Of all the bedrooms, our bedroom needs the most work. It used to be a porch, but then it was turned into an additional bedroom. The previous owners created a walk-in closet and opened the bathroom (the only one in the house) to everyone without having to have guests walk through this bedroom. Now that we own it, I want to make this room more functional. For one, the light switch is in the middle of the room where the entryway into the room used to be. Also, a light was never put in the walk-in closet, so this makes it very difficult to use and maintain. Here is a basic mood board for how I’d like the room to feel.
Since the room used to be a porch it does have a “floor” in place, but it’s only meant to be temporary. So I would like to put bamboo flooring into the room which eventually would go through the first floor.
The blue paint is still up in the air. I believe we’ve decided on Behr for the lighter paint color, so now we must choose a light blue to match what we’re looking for.
I would like to remove the dressers we have in the room completely and replace them with the Elga wardrobe with the organizers inside. This would make the room more functional, and the built in mirror would be a space saver.
We just purchased a new mattress (YAY!), so we need a bigger frame. The Vanik jumped out at me as looking homey and comfortable. I would also like to purchase drawers to go under the bed frame for additional storage.
The fabric is very whimsical and much like me. It’s a Hoot is available at my local fabric store, so I will probably pop in there initially to get a swatch.
